Don Draper’s Letter of Recommendation for @AllisonSCDP

Aug 15, 2010 by

I’ve always had a specialty for getting my hands on things others can’t seem to find, locate or have a good source for.  Whether it’s an AIDS list kept by the Montgomery, AL Police Department in 1987 or well, this, the letter of recommendation Don Draper had written up for his departing secretary, Alison.   If you need me to find something for you, let me know.   (In the case of the MPD list, I won’t tell you who it came from as it’s important to protect your sources, especially when your sources carry guns.  That’s just as important for night men who wax floors.)

To Whom It May Concern:

I want to recommend my secretary Alison for a position in your firm.  She has proven to be a dedicated employee of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce and came up through the ranks at Sterling Cooper.

Alison is a woman focused on details. She is sensitive to client needs and those of her supervisors and fellow employees.  She’s also a great writer and has been sparkling in her duties.  She’s kind-hearted and willing to go beyond the call of duty to ensure that all things are appropriately handled.

We are saddened to lose her here at SCDP, but know there are many new exciting opportunities awaiting her in the future.  You would be wise to catch her at this point in her career while you still can.

Sincerely,

Don Draper

PS: I know a creative firm in Texas (www.DaddyClaxton.com‘s) that already claims to have dibs on her so you’d better move fast.
