Wacom Bamboo Fun Pen Pad is just that: FUN!

Dec 11, 2008 by

I've been asking the Twitterverse for a few weeks about whether or not the Wacom Bamboo Fun pen pad was worth getting.  Well, thanks to a $75 birthday Apple Store gift card from my wonderful father-in-law/mother-in-law in CA/WA, and the fact that I was at the Westfield Century Plaza Mall here in LA last night and found the one I'd been looking at for $99 in the Apple Store, I got one last night. (I know awkward sentence structure but I was up into the night using the thing) In total, I shelled out about $35 for this and it's the best $35 I've spent in a long, long time. (Add another Apple Store to the list!)

It plugged right into a USB port on my MacBook Pro and worked.  I then added the two software discs from it and in about 15 minutes, I was using the bad boy.  I have yet to use it in Photoshop Elements 6, but after what it does with the Corel product, well, I'm as happy as a lar.

A version of Corel Paint 4 also come with it.  This was fun.  It looks like it was painted with acrylics.  But no.  It's never been on a canvas or even a piece of cardboard.

If you don't have one of these, I strongly encourage it.  The pen takes a little getting used to, but the tutorial we pretty easy to comprehend.  And the ergonomic mouse and pen that come with it are fun to feel. I can't describe it, but they're both very comfy to the touch.
